The translation provider you can count on
Where we started
When a document carries your case, your contract, or your family's future, you need a provider you can trust completely. That trust is what we have built since 1996.
ABC Translations began that year as a branch of the Institute of Comparative Law in Miami, Florida. The Institute's founder, Dr. Enrique Fernández-Barros, saw how much local authors and companies needed professional academic and legal translation, and he drew on Miami's rich, multicultural environment to start a practice serving South Florida. As a leading scholar of transnational law, he extended those services to global companies, and in 2001 the practice was constituted as its own company, ABC Translations International.
Today we are a trusted global brand known for expert linguistic teams, reliability, innovation, and an uncommon commitment to fair pricing for top-rated translation and localization.
We were founded by an educator, linguist, and scholar with a principled approach to quality. Our commitment to fair pricing lets companies do more and reach more people. And we respect the lived experiences of speakers of different languages and cultures worldwide.

How we protect your data and materials
The translation industry still struggles to keep client data and materials private and secure. Sensitive documents are often passed to independent translators, outsourcers, and technical support around the world, frequently to people a company has never met. That exposes clients to data breaches, cyber-attacks, identity theft, and fraud.
We take that seriously, and we have put real measures in place to keep your data and materials safe from the moment you submit them, throughout your project, and afterward. We do not send your documents to strangers. We use encrypted platforms and carefully monitored cloud services to transfer and process your materials, and only with carefully selected people who are essential to your project.
We sign confidentiality agreements with you and with our teams. We vet and train our family of linguists and engineers so they are conscientious, professional, and trustworthy. We work to raise the ethical standards of our profession, because we want to earn your trust, deliver translations that meet your goals, and help the industry improve.
Standards we hold ourselves to
ABC Translations, with our carefully selected family of technology support companies and our key language and engineering teams, adheres to internationally recognized ISO standards and ASTM guidelines that reflect our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
ISO 9001 is a quality management standard that ensures an organization meets the needs of its customers and stakeholders. ISO 17100 sets the requirements for the core processes, resources, and other aspects needed to deliver quality translation. ISO 13611 specifies the requirements for community interpreting during spoken and signed communication.
ISO 18587 sets the requirements for full and light post-editing of machine translation output by human post-editors. ISO 13485 is a medical-devices quality management standard for regulatory purposes. ASTM F2575 is a guide for quality assurance in translation that frames what good practice looks like at each phase of a project.
