Paying for Your Translation Order
Payment and billing
Every payment runs through Braintree, a PayPal company that holds PCI DSS Level 1 status, the strongest tier of payment protection. We never keep your card details on our own servers. The data is encrypted and sent straight to Braintree, where the charge is handled.
Here are the ways you can pay:
- Mastercard, Visa, JCB, American Express, and Discover
- Draw on your PayPal balance, a linked bank account, or a card you have on file
- Charge it through your Venmo account
- Open to business customers who pay by invoice
Saving Payment Methods
Want quicker checkouts down the road? Save a payment method to your account. It helps the most when you order often or run a shared team account that places orders regularly.
After you save one, you can:
- Save more than one card, along with Venmo, PayPal, and bank accounts, every one of them kept secure
- Set one method as the default so it is picked for you at checkout
- Swap or delete saved methods whenever you like from your payment settings
Storage runs on the Braintree Vault, a tokenization system that meets PCI DSS Level 1 standards. All we keep is a secure token, the payment method ID, with no record of your CVV, your bank account information, or your full card number. That token is all Braintree needs to clear later charges without risk.
Business Invoicing
Approved business accounts with steady or large translation volume can pay by invoice. It works well when your team orders often and you want to keep expense tracking tidy, smooth out payments, or roll several charges into one invoice.
Once approved, you can set terms such as Net 15 or Net 30, and you can settle invoices by ACH, wire, check, credit or debit card, PayPal, or Venmo.
For API integrations, invoicing is required as well. To send orders through our API by code, your business account has to have invoicing turned on.
To begin, open a business account and ask for invoicing under Business Settings. More detail is covered in .
ACH Bank Payments
ACH Direct Debit lets you settle invoices straight from a U.S. bank account. The option opens up for business customers once invoicing is active.
To link a bank account, head to your payment methods and choose "Bank account (ACH)". You will enter your routing and account numbers, plus a few more details so we can confirm the account.
A bank account has to be confirmed before you can pay with it. There are two ways to do that:
- When your bank allows it, the account is confirmed the moment you add it. This works at most large banks.
- When instant confirmation is not an option, you will see two tiny deposits, each under $1.00, land in your account within 1 to 2 business days. They show up labeled "PayPal" on your statement. After they arrive, head back to the payment methods page, type in the two exact amounts, and finish confirming.
After the account is confirmed, it shows up as a choice when you pay invoices. Just pick your saved bank account and approve the payment. ACH payments usually clear in 3 to 5 business days.
Payment Timing and Currency
as soon as you place your order. There is no pay-later choice unless your account is set up for business invoicing.
. When you pay with a card from outside the country, your bank turns the charge into your local currency. Your card issuer sets the exchange rate and any foreign transaction fee that applies.
Receipts and Billing Details
once a payment or refund goes through.
You can also grab your receipt anytime from the order status page.
For business invoicing, an administrator can update the tax ID, the billing address, and the billing contact from within Business Settings.
Tax and Fees
on translation work, though it can apply based on where you are. Any tax owed is worked out and shown to you at checkout.
Is your organization tax-exempt? before you order, so we can set up your account the right way.
Common Payment Issues
Payments usually go through without a hitch, but if checkout trips up, here are the usual culprits and the fix for each:
The billing ZIP code has to line up with the one your card issuer has on record. Getting this wrong is among the top reasons a charge is turned down.
Enter the card security code exactly as printed on the card. Even one wrong digit will stop the payment.
Check that your card or account has enough credit or funds available to cover the whole order.
Now and then a bank flags a charge it reads as odd or risky. When all your details are right, call your bank to clear the charge, then try once more.
Fraud Prevention
Your safety matters to us, so we will never ask you to share payment details by email or phone. To keep customers safe and our service trustworthy:
- Every charge is checked for signs of fraud.
- We may ask for extra confirmation on large or risky orders before we run them.
Fraudulent use of a payment method gets the order canceled on the spot, and we may report it to the card networks or the proper authorities.
Refund Policy
We back the quality of what we deliver and want you to be happy with it. That said, since translation is custom work that takes real hands-on effort, a few limits apply to refunds.
When a refund is granted, give it 3 to 5 business days to reach your account; the exact timing rests with your bank or card issuer.
The full terms are spelled out on our .
