A Plain Guide to Our Translation Services
Our translation services
A certified translation is a word-for-word version of your document, produced by a human translator and sent to you as a locked PDF printed on ABC Translations letterhead. It comes with a signed and stamped Certificate of Translation Accuracy, and the layout is built to mirror the original document as closely as possible. The price is $24.10 per page, where a page counts as up to 250 words.
On the certificate, the translator states that they are fluent in both languages, have no personal connection to the document, and have rendered it fully and accurately to the best of their ability. An authorized member of the ABC Translations team signs it, which gives the file the credibility that government offices, courts, schools, and other official bodies usually ask for. Because these translations follow set rules for layout and delivery, they stay consistent, easy to trace, and ready to be accepted on the first try.

Standard Translation
A professional translation is also done by a professional human translator, but it skips the certificate. Where a certified translation stays word for word, a standard one reads for meaning, so the translator can reshape wording, tone, and sentence structure to sound clear and natural in the new language. You receive it in a file you can edit, usually a Word document, at rates as low as $0.06 per word. It fits any content that does not call for legal or official approval.
This option works well for things like company messaging, marketing copy, web pages, in-house material, or personal projects where you want to reuse or adjust the text later. Delivery speed lines up with certified work, and because the file is editable, it is far easier to revise, update, or hand off to a colleague.

Proofreading
Proofreading is an add-on in which a second professional linguist goes back over your finished translation, checking grammar, layout, consistency, and accuracy. This extra quality step makes sure the result reads cleanly and looks ready to present, which matters most for detailed, formal, or high-stakes documents.
Keep in mind that every translation already passes through one expert translator who is accountable for its quality and accuracy. Proofreading simply brings in a second specialist, and a fresh reader often spots small errors or inconsistencies that a single review can overlook.
Submissions to highly selective institutions
Academic, legal, or commercial publications
Poor scans and handwritten files that need careful handling.
Expedited Turnaround
Expedited turnaround is an add-on that moves your order to the front of the line so it ships sooner, cutting the usual 48-hour delivery window by roughly half. It is built for moments when the clock matters, such as a visa appointment that is coming up, a deadline you cannot miss, or a legal filing that has to go out fast.
Once you choose this option, your order is marked for priority handling. Our support team speeds up the review and assignment steps, and translators put in extra hours to hit the shorter deadline while keeping the quality the same.
Visa appointments or travel deadlines
Time-sensitive legal filings
University or job application cutoffs
Notarization
Notarization means a state-commissioned notary public confirms the identity of the person who signs the Certificate of Translation Accuracy. Legal, academic, and international submissions often call for this step. The notary does not judge the translation itself; the role is to verify who signed it, which adds a layer of legal weight to the certification.
ABC notarized translations include a digital copy secured by an Adobe-trusted X.509 certificate and tamper-evident signature. Choose shipping and we will also mail a printed copy bearing original ink signatures and stamps.
International academic or legal submissions
Consulates and government offices sometimes ask for authenticated originals.
Apostille
An apostille authenticates the notary signature attached to a certified translation for use abroad. Countries that belong to the Hague Apostille Convention generally require one when you send documents to them. Digital apostilles arrive as signed PDFs with tamper-evident protection.
For physical apostilles, we give you the package needed to apply through California's Secretary of State.
Credential evaluator or overseas university submissions.
Overseas visa, work permit, and residency paperwork.
International court or legal proceedings
Government filings or business registration paperwork for another country.
Currency Conversion
When a document carries financial figures, such as a bank statement or pay record, you can add currency conversion so those amounts are translated and shown in USD or a currency you choose. It helps with immigration, tax, or lending paperwork where the reader needs to understand a foreign currency at a glance.
These conversions are meant for reference only and do not replace certified financial records. To add the service, let us know, and our team will review your documents and quote a price. Currency conversion uses either your chosen date or the translation date.
Asset or income evidence for USCIS.
Loan or mortgage applications
Tax or accounting records that must be shown in USD.
Choosing the Right Services
No two documents are alike. Some people need nothing more than a basic certified translation, while others have to layer on notarization, an apostille, proofreading, or faster delivery, especially when an overseas office or a tight deadline is involved.
