When a Quote Beats a Direct Order
When to request a quote
Quote first or order now? Here is when to ask.
Most people order straight from our site and see their price right away at checkout. There are times, though, when asking for a quote first makes more sense, such as when your files are tricky, your instructions are unusual, or you would rather hold off on buying for now. A quote hands you a firm price and a delivery time, and you owe nothing. It also gives our team a chance to look over anything out of the ordinary so the job is set up right from day one.
Your Files Are Low Quality
Scans and photos that come out fuzzy, too dark, cut off at the edges, or tough to make out can throw off our automatic counter, giving the wrong word total or none at all. Send a quote request and we will check the files by hand to confirm they can be read and to set a price you can rely on.
Your Files Contain Multiple Languages
When the same text appears in two or more languages on a single document, the automatic counter reads every word it sees, which can push the total higher than it should be. Ask for a quote and we will black out the repeated parts by hand so the charge reflects only the source text.
If you prefer, you can black out those repeated sections yourself before you upload, and checkout will then show you a price on the spot.
Your File Couldn't Be Automatically Counted
A few formats skip the automatic count, among them spreadsheets, CSV files, and PowerPoint decks, since they tend to carry a lot of material that does not need translating. A hand-prepared quote lets us tally only what truly matters and price it correctly.
Now and then a file with quality problems, or a short break in service, can also stop the automatic count from running. In those moments, a quote request keeps things moving so we can still take care of your job accurately.
You Have Specific Formatting or Other Requirements
When your needs reach past what we normally deliver, like adding background notes, merging or separating content a certain way, or following layout instructions that checkout does not cover, a quote is the surest way for us to grasp exactly what you want.
Spell out your request plainly, and we will go over it together before any work begins.
You Just Want a Price Without Committing
Maybe you are not ready to buy yet but still want to know the precise cost and turnaround. In that case, a quote is a smart move. You get a full estimate to keep on hand and come back to whenever you like, with nothing to pay and nothing locked in.
You can also download it as a PDF file to pass along to others, or let a third party cover the cost and convert it into an order.
Splitting Or Combining Content Across Files
When several documents need to come together as one translation, or a single file has to be broken out into separate results, a quote request lets us match what you have in mind and keeps the delivery from getting muddled.
Translating Into Multiple Languages
When a single document needs to reach several languages at the destination, the easiest path is one quote that lines them all up together. From that one submission, we can build a separate quote per language pair and prepare each matching order, so the results stay consistent, accurate, and simple to deliver.
Third-Party Requirements
Certain recipients lay down their own rules for layout, certification, or how a document is sent. A quote gives us the chance to verify up front whether we can satisfy those rules before you commit to an order.
If you know the recipient has specific requirements, spell out their exact rules when you ask for a quote, and we will look them over to confirm we are a fit.
